Job summary

Olin is seeking a Process Engineer Intern (Summer 2027) in Independence, MO. The role supports operations, maintenance, and safety teams to pursue manufacturing excellence through continuous improvement and lean initiatives.

You'll lead hands-on projects and contribute to capital projects from justification to installation. Qualified students in Industrial, Mechanical, or Metallurgical engineering with a 3.0+ GPA and US work authorization are invited.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate Industrial, Mechanical, or Metallurgical degree program.
• Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher at all times; official transcript required each term.
• Experience with ammunition/firearms and shooting sports industry preferred.
• Must have completed sophomore year (60 credits) before first rotation.
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during rotation; no virtual work.
• Must be able to access ITAR controlled data and obtain export license approval.

Responsibilities

• Lead a minimum of three hands-on projects during the rotation period.
• Support maintenance in developing policies and procedures for preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements in small caliber ammunition production.
• Collect and communicate data to support engineering projects and process improvements.
