Job summary

Olin is seeking a Process Engineer Co-Op for Fall 2027–Spring 2028 in East Alton, IL. The role supports operations, maintenance, and safety teams to pursue manufacturing excellence through continuous improvement and lean initiatives.

You\'ll act as engineering representative on small capital projects including justification, ordering, and installation. You\'ll work full-time (40 hours/week), complete at least sophomore year, and must meet ITAR/data access and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering program with GPA 3.0+.
• Must complete sophomore year before first rotation.
• Experience with ammunition or firearms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a minimum of three hands-on projects throughout the term, to be defined at the beginning of the rotation based on department and business need.
• Support maintenance in development of policies and procedures for preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements related to the production of small caliber ammunition.
• Collect, process, and communicate data to support engineering projects and process improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
