Job summary

Olin is seeking a Process Engineer 6-Month Co-Op in East Alton, IL for August 2027–May 2028. This paid internship supports operations, maintenance and safety teams, focusing on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing in small caliber ammunition production.

You will lead at least three hands-on projects, identify and implement process improvements, and collect data to back engineering initiatives in a fast-paced plant. Housing stipend available.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited college/university majoring in Chemical Engineering with a 3.0+ GPA
• Experience or familiarity with ammunition or firearms industry preferred
• Must have completed sophomore year (60 credit hours) before first rotation
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during rotation; not eligible for virtual work
• Access to ITAR data contingent on export license and DoJ/ATF vetting

• Lead a minimum of three hands-on projects during the term
• Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements in production of ammunition
• Collect, process, and communicate data to support engineering projects in a fast-paced plant
