Job summary

Olin is seeking a Process Engineer Co-Op for Fall 2027 to Spring 2028 in East Alton, IL. The 6-month rotation offers hands-on projects across operations, maintenance, and safety, with emphasis on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.

You'll lead at least three projects, support preventative and predictive maintenance, and evaluate process improvements in small-caliber ammunition production while collecting data to drive engineering initiatives.

Qualifications

• Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate Mechanical degree program.
• Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale at all times; transcript required.
• Experience in ammunition and firearms preferred.
• Must have completed sophomore year prior to first rotation with Olin.
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during rotation; not eligible for virtual work.
• This position requires access to ITAR controlled data and export license approval.
• Employment contingent upon Employee Possessor vetting per DOJ/ATF.
• Olin does not sponsor; must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead a minimum of three hands-on projects throughout the term, defined at rotation start.
• Support maintenance in development of policies and procedures for preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements for small caliber ammunition production.
• Collect, process, and communicate data to support engineering projects and process improvements.

Undergraduate Mechanical Engineering (enrolled)

GPA 3.0+ (4.0 scale)

Sophomore year completed / 60 credits
