Job summary

Heraeus Medevio in White Bear Lake, MN offers an 8-month Process Development Engineer Co-Op on-site, focusing on implantable systems manufacturing, coil winding, laser welding, and other advanced assembly processes. You will gain hands-on experience in R&D and operations engineering with mentorship from experienced engineers.

Responsibilities include developing and validating processes, methods, data analysis, and continuous improvement to optimize yields and Throughputs, with occasional travel

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or comparable Engineering program.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
• Ability to work full-time onsite during the duration of the co-op.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
• Driven to learn more about real-world application of academic engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

• Provide general support in the development and qualification of new processes and equipment to enable increased throughput or new products to be produced at Medevio production sites.
• Support the development of test methods to characterize the performance outputs of the product manufactured at Medevio.
• Assist with the development of processes for coil winding, polymer reflow, laser welding, and other various advanced assembly processes.
• Analyze data and write technical documentation to support engineering decisions.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to improve yields, throughputs, or cycle times for products manufactured at Medevio.
• Participate in other process development team meetings and activities.
• Respond to changing priorities in a timely manner.
• Other duties assigned as required.
