Job summary

Heraeus Medevio in Fridley, MN, invites applications for an 8-month R&D Pilot Manufacturing Engineer Co-op (May 2027–Dec 2027). The on-site program provides hands-on experience in design, testing, and manufacturing of medical devices under experienced engineers.

You will contribute to safe, efficient pilot manufacturing, plant layout, 5S, and process controls, while mentored by seasoned professionals and with opportunities to travel to nearby locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering program.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
• Ability to work full-time onsite during the duration of the co-op.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support execution of early development and clinical manufacturing builds.
• Develop manufacturing procedures and work instructions for manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Support plant layout, 5S, visual management, and workflow improvements.
• Collect and analyze manufacturing data to support engineering decisions.
• Partner with operators, technicians, and engineers to troubleshoot issues and improve quality, yield, and efficiency.
• Support implementation of new equipment, processes, and manufacturing controls while maintaining a safe work environment.
• Participate in other pilot operations and R&D team meetings and activities.
• Respond to changing priorities in a timely manner.
• Other duties assigned as required.
