Job summary

HCA Healthcare's CareNow urgent care is seeking an NCT - Medical Assistant PRN to support patient care in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities include vital signs, specimen collection, EKGs, IM injections, and imaging per provider orders.

You will document in the EHR, assist with check-in/check-out, and help maintain records while upholding safety and quality standards. Candidates should have at least 1 year of clinical experience, a HS diploma, and the appropriate licenses.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting.
• Experience using an EHR system.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (BOTP) is required.
• GMRT/LMRT/NCT license required in state of residency.
• AAMA certification preferred.
• Current BLS Certification required within 30 days of start.
• Must obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening and Federal Drug Screening Certifications within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, perform EKGs, and administer IM injections.
• Perform x-ray/imaging services according to provider’s orders and update patient charts.
• Collect patient history and document in the EHR.
• Apply splints, dressings and bandages.
• Assist with check-in/check-out including auditing charts.
• Maintain records and logs on activities including in-house lab work, drug screens, and lab work sent out to other labs.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.
