Job summary

CareNow urgent care, part of HCA Healthcare, is hiring an NCT/Medical Assistant to join our patient-focused team in Houston. The role involves taking vital signs, EKGs, IM injections and performing imaging per provider orders, with careful chart updates in the EHR.

A strong emphasis on patient care and teamwork guides daily work. Qualifications include 1+ year clinical experience, a relevant MA program, and state licensure as GMRT/LMRT/NCT.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.
• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (BOTP) is required.
• GMRT/LMRT/NCT license is required in state of residency.
• AAMA certification is preferred.
• BLS certification is required within 30 days.
• Federal Breath Alcohol and Federal Drug Screening certifications within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, perform EKGs and IM injections.
• Perform x-ray/imaging services and update patient charts accordingly.
• Collect patient history and document in the EHR.
• Apply splints, dressings and bandages.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and audit charts.
• Maintain records and logs for in-house and sent-out lab work.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.
