Job summary

Trustmark National Bank is seeking a Director of Private Banking in the Houston area to lead, coordinate, and manage the private banking unit. The role emphasizes guiding sales efforts, ensuring profitable operations, regulatory compliance, and superior client experiences within the division.

The incumbent will work closely with Private Banking Relationship Managers, supervise associates, and balance leadership with personal production (roughly 80% leadership and 20% personal sales).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or a related field.
• 5 years of Leadership experience including manager and team lead.
• 8 years of Direct private banking lending experience through personal production or a leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of Private Banking and bank financial products and services, including applicable laws and regulations.
• Advanced sales skills to lead business development activities within Private Banking.
• Experience working with affluent, high net worth and ultra high net worth clients.
• Experience in recognizing and handling troubled loans and problem customers.
• Demonstrated experience with sales strategy and sales process development.
• Advanced oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with community, customers, employees, and administrative staff.

Responsibilities

• Cross-train, lead and develop team of associates to promote maximum productivity, engagement, succession planning, and overall contribution to strategic organizational goals.
• Manage profitability of the units, the client, and direct new business development and current customer retention activities to generate fee revenues for supervised functional areas.
• Serve as the senior client-facing representative of Private Banking with the bank's most significant clients and prospects, and transition clients to the appropriate banker or advisor for ongoing management.
• Develop sales strategies for the Private Banking team, including guiding internal and external presentations, training, and cross-selling opportunities between units to assist in revenue generation efforts.
• Provide management, leadership, and supervision to direct and indirect reports through clearly communicated department goals/direction.
• Compliance/Regulatory: Interact with regulatory agencies and internal Compliance and Audit to provide all requested information in a timely manner.
• Associates are expected to perform all additional duties as assigned.
