Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a Principal Technical Writer to lead the strategy and execution of customer onboarding and Getting Started content. You will transform onboarding materials into a cohesive, narrative-driven experience guiding users to their first aha moment, partnering with the SSC team and product/docs to optimize trial-to-paid conversion.

You will define the narrative architecture of the user journey, ensure a seamless experience from setup to advanced feature

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in technical writing or onboarding roles.
• Experience creating cohesive narratives for onboarding and user journeys.
• Ability to drive cross-functional initiatives and influence across teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive onboarding content strategy with a cohesive narrative from first visit to deployment.
• Align Field, Product, and Docs to ensure high-quality content output.
• Design user-focused onboarding flows with best practices and clear next steps.
• Measure impact using analytics and user feedback to reduce churn and improve value delivery.
