Elastic, the Search AI Company, seeks a Principal Technical Writer to lead onboarding and Getting Started content. You will shape a cohesive narrative guiding users from first setup to value, partnering with SSC, product, and documentation to support trial-to-paid conversion.

You will own narrative architecture of the user journey, ensuring a seamless story across touchpoints and deployments, empowering users to succeed with our cloud-based tools.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in technical writing or developer-focused roles.
• Experience in onboarding or user journey design.
• Strong narrative and storytelling skills for complex products.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across product, engineering, and sales/field.
• Data-driven documentation decisions using analytics and support data.

Responsibilities

• Drive the onboarding content strategy and cohesive narrative for first-time users.
• Align Field, Product, and Docs with stakeholders and roadmaps.
• Design user-focused onboarding flows highlighting best practices and clear next steps.
• Measure, iterate, and reduce churn using user research and telemetry.
