Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a highly experienced Principal Substation Electrical Engineer to lead the Substation Electrical team in North America. You will oversee hands-on design, studies, and project management for utility and developer clients within the PD&R unit.

The role involves client engagement, coordination with multiple engineering teams, and travel up to 20% for client sites and meetings, primarily in North America. A PE license and 12+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in substation layout, bus configurations, grounding, and HV/EHV design.
• Experience in Power Delivery Substation Electrical consultancy and renewables knowledge.
• PE License.
• Proficiency in SKM, ASPEN, ETAP, CAPE, CDEGS, WinIGS and related codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Substation Electrical team within PD&R and manage design packages.
• Interface with clients, engineers, and vendors for project execution and development.
• Perform quality reviews and ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, IEEE and local codes.
• Support business development, proposals, and account management for the region.
