Job summary

enGen is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to build scalable, public-facing software across Digital Member Experience channels. You will own end-to-end SDLC, focusing on secure PHI handling, authorization, and encryption, while guiding architecture decisions and vendor integrations.

You will lead a mobile-focused agile team, define ADRs, and present strategic solutions to leadership and security teams, shaping platform topologies and migration paths.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related field.
• Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 9 years of proficiency in design and analysis of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns for scalable, highly available systems.
• Experience with at least two modern programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, ACE, IIB/ITX, Informatica preferred) and familiarity with React, Angular, NodeJS, NoSQL, HTML5, CSS, GCP or AWS.
• Knowledge of REST, HTTPS, JSON and multiple general-purpose languages (Java, Python, Django/Flask, C/C++, C#, JavaScript, Go).

Responsibilities

• Lead the resolution of technical and business problems focusing on scalability, performance, maintainability, security, and robustness.
• Generate ideas and implement technical solutions to deliver product features while safeguarding functionality and performance.
• Explore new technologies and architectural concepts to keep products cutting-edge.
• Participate in high-level development estimations to help ensure roadmap execution.
• Present solutions to team members and management to drive technical implementations.
• Mentor and provide leadership to other software engineers as needed.
• Other duties as assigned or requested.
