Job summary

enGen is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to own end-to-end architecture for scalable, enterprise-grade digital applications across member experience channels. You will shape client experiences through API gateways to backend services, ensuring secure PHI handling and compliance.

Responsibilities include defining ADRs, leading vendor integrations, and setting non-functional targets. You will drive architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and present strategic solutions to leadership teams

Qualifications

• 9 years of proficiency in design and analysis of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns in scalable, highly available systems.
• 9 years with at least two modern programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, ACE, IIB/ITX, Informatica preferred) and experience with three of: React, Angular, NodeJS, NoSQL, HTML5, CSS, GCP or AWS.
• 9 years of understanding of web services technologies such as REST, HTTPS, JSON.

Responsibilities

• Lead resolution of a variety of technical and business problems ensuring proper scalability, performance, maintainability, security, and robustness.
• Responsible for idea generation, exploring and implementing appropriate technical solutions to achieve required product features, while monitoring progress against roadmap.
• Explore new technologies and architectural concepts to ensure products use cutting-edge solutions.
• Participate in high-level development estimations to help ensure roadmap execution.
• Present solutions and ideas to team members and management to drive technical direction.
• Mentor and provide leadership to other software engineers as needed.
• Other duties as assigned or requested.
