Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer for EO/IR or RF signal processing to join the Processing, Guidance and Controls Center in Tucson, AZ. You will design, develop, and test signal processing algorithms used across missile systems, with emphasis on sensor data calibration, denoising, object detection, tracking, and sensor fusion.

This onsite role requires collaboration across disciplines. You will lead in algorithm integration, contribute to live-fire testing, and mentor junior engineers

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• Experience in EO/IR, RF, Sonar, or Acoustic signal processing domains.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and/or Java programming languages.
• Experience with algorithm design, implementation, analysis, testing, and optimization.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, prototype, integrate, test, and assess performance of RF/EO/IR signal processing algorithms and models.
• Modify and use simulations to support design and testing of signal processing techniques.
• Participate in engineering labs to test and validate sensor models and algorithm performance against requirements.
• Support integration of algorithms into hardware and collaborate across development phases from start-up to live-fire testing.
• Mentor and share knowledge with multiple team members.
