Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Manhattan Beach, CA, seeks a Principal/Sr Principal Project Manager to lead complex programs across all project phases. You will develop schedules, manage costs, and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver on time and within scope.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and risk management skills, plus experience with SOW/SDRL, Jira, and Microsoft Office. DoD clearance is required; relocation support may be available.

Qualifications

• Principal Project Manager requires 5 years with Bachelor's; 3 years with Masters; 1 year with PhD; or an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Sr Principal Project Manager requires 8 years with Bachelor's; 6 years with Masters; 4 year with PhD; or an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval within a reasonable period of time.
• High level of proficiency using Microsoft Office suite. Proven success managing multiple projects concurrently. Working knowledge of SOW and SDRL; developing, implementing and updating project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between projects and stakeholders, review status, manage schedules, and prepare reports.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans with WBS, schedules, cost estimates, and resource allocations; monitor progress.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks; ensure EVMS alignment and requirements.
• Oversee operational aspects; control account management, cost accounting, EAC, risk management, and variance analysis reporting.
• Adhere to a 9/80 schedule with occasional Friday off; collaborate with project managers, line managers, and clients.
