Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Project Manager to be based onsite in Sunnyvale, CA. The role oversees operational aspects of multiple projects, coordinating between project management, planning, teams, and line management to ensure schedules, budgets, and client expectations are met.

The candidate will monitor project progress, resolve issues, and develop solutions with PMs, line managers, and customers, including interfacing with DoD stakeholders and the SP22

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8 years of project/program management experience or closely related OR Master's with 6 years relevant experience OR PhD with 4 years relevant experience.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and comfortable speaking in a group environment with the customer.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
• US citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as a liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
• Review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports.
• Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
• Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
• Coordinate Government Furnished Material (GFM) with SP22 Navy customer, Logistics and Sub-Contractors.
• Initiate, monitor and coordinate Intercompany Work Orders (IWO) contracts.
• Develop IPT agenda topics and participate in customer telecons to discuss issues of concern.
• Work with Quality Assurance to support resolution of problems and tracking of hardware through the life cycle.
• Interface with Global Supply Chain for procurement of spares and materials.
• Support Earned Value Management (EVM) activities and tripwire explanations.
