Job summary

RTX’s Effector RF Design department seeks a Principal Sensor Engineer to lead as a Sensor Calibration Specialist for advanced missile contracts. This onsite Tucson, AZ role focuses on cutting-edge RF antenna technology, driving innovation, and shaping the future of sensor systems.

You will collaborate with thermal, structural, and systems teams to ensure compliance, analyze data, and craft comprehensive documentation. A security clearance is required and relocation may be offered.

Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience with antenna design, concept trades/studies, preliminary/final design or qualification processes.
Experience with RF sensor measurements and evaluating post-processed data.

Responsibilities

Drive development and design of specialized RF sensor hardware, technical data packages, and detailed performance requirements.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design compliance.
Analyze simulation and test data to verify performance against requirements.
Prepare and review documentation for RF sensor systems, analyses, schematics, interface drawings, test plans, and specifications.
Engage with RF sensor manufacturing suppliers as a subject matter expert.
Evaluate RF sensor designs to mitigate performance risks.
