Job summary

Epicor is seeking a Principal Product Developer to evolve and support business‑critical applications built across modern .NET technologies and legacy Pick/UniBasic environments.

This hands‑on technical leadership role mentors developers, shapes engineering practices, and works across application development, integrations, APIs, databases, and release processes to ensure reliable, scalable distribution solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software development experience, including demonstrated expertise in Windows Forms development.
• 3+ years of experience developing applications using VB.NET, including web and/or Windows Forms applications.
• 4+ years of experience working with software solutions in the distribution industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience with software testing methodologies and defect resolution.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical work and help teams meet project deadlines.
• Strong analytical and creative problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to propose, evaluate, and implement new technical ideas.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing other technical professionals.
• Strong customer‑service mindset and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Ability to act as a technical thought leader and change agent.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, develop, test, and maintain software systems and applications.
• Provide technical leadership on complex development initiatives and projects.
• Partner with Product Development, Product QA, and other cross‑functional teams to ensure change, testing, and release requirements are met.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects in partnership with Product QA.
• Mentor, coach, and provide technical guidance to other developers.
• Deliver formal and informal technical training.
• Recommend and implement software development best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, CI, and process optimization.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, development practices, and industry trends for potential use in Epicor products and processes.
• Promote consistent engineering standards and help ensure adherence to Epicor development practices.
• Contribute to technical decision‑making and help teams deliver high‑quality solutions within established timelines.
• Represent Epicor’s technical expertise at internal and external events, as appropriate.
