Job summary

Epicor is seeking a Principal Product Developer to evolve and support business-critical .NET and legacy Pick/UniBasic environments. This hands-on leadership role combines technical excellence with mentoring, cross-functional collaboration, and driving modernization initiatives.

You will shape engineering practices, lead complex projects, and guide teams to reliable, scalable solutions across applications, integrations, APIs, databases, and releases.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software development experience, including Windows Forms.
• 3+ years developing VB.NET applications (web and/or Windows Forms).
• 4+ years of experience working with software solutions in the distribution industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience with software testing methodologies and defect resolution.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical work and help teams meet project deadlines.
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; mentoring capabilities.
• Customer-service mindset and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Ability to act as a technical thought leader and change agent.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, develop, test, and maintain software systems and applications.
• Provide technical leadership on complex development initiatives and projects.
• Partner with Product Development, Product QA, and cross-functional teams to ensure change, testing, and release requirements are met.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects in partnership with Product QA.
• Mentor, coach, and provide technical guidance to other developers.
• Deliver formal and informal technical training.
• Recommend and implement software development best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, CI, and process optimization.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, development practices, and industry trends for Epicor products.
• Promote consistent engineering standards and adherence to Epicor practices.
• Contribute to technical decision-making and help teams deliver high-quality solutions on time.
• Represent Epicor's technical expertise at internal and external events.
