Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a Principal Instrumentation & Controls Hardware Engineer to own the architectural direction of I&C hardware across our reactor and nuclear fuel manufacturing facilities. You will define measurement hardware architecture, safety instrumented systems, and OT network design, acting as the senior technical voice and design authority.

You will mentor engineers, drive standards, engage regulators and vendors, and shape the technology roadmap for a first-of-a-kind

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of instrumentation or I&C engineering experience in process industries.
• End-to-end ownership of instrumentation hardware across large programs.
• Architecture-level leadership with standards adopted across orgs.
• Experience representing an engineering discipline to regulators and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Define the I&C hardware architecture and technology roadmap across reactor and fuel facilities.
• Serve as design authority for architecture decisions and safety-significant designs.
• Lead regulatory engagements, licensing support, and safety case input for instrumentation hardware.
• Direct root-cause investigations and drive corrective actions within the discipline.
• Mentor engineers, develop standards, and build organizational capability.
