Valar Atomics is seeking Senior Nuclear I&C Hardware Engineers to own the plant design and application of nuclear instrumentation for our high temperature gas-cooled reactor program. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nuclear, Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Select, specify, and analyze neutron flux detection hardware across source, intermediate, and power ranges.
• Design and analyze nuclear instrumentation signal chains end-to-end, including biasing, preamplifier placement, and grounding practices.
• Apply detector physics and radiation transport to instrument placement and shielding decisions, in coordination with reactor physics and shielding analysts.
• Lead environmental and radiation qualification for assigned equipment according to IEEE 323/344 methodologies.
• Plan and lead integration and verification test programs including channel bring-up, installation, and data acquisition.
