Job summary

Fuze Health is seeking a Principal Engineer to define the technical vision for FuzeRx and guide multiple squads across AWS, PostgreSQL, Ruby on Rails, Python, and TypeScript, ensuring scalable and secure systems in a regulated healthcare domain.

Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will mentor engineers, shape architecture, collaborate with product and operations, and lead initiatives to improve performance and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software engineering and systems design experience.
• Experience building and scaling distributed, high-throughput, B2B SaaS systems.
• Experience in regulated environments such as HealthTech (HIPAA, SOC2) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve target architecture for core platforms across B2B and consumer products.
• Mentor Staff, Senior, and Mid-level engineers to elevate engineering culture.
• Establish engineering standards including coding guidelines, testing, CI/CD, and security-by-design.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering Managers, and Pharmacy Operations to align architecture with business goals.
• Partner with InfoSec to ensure HIPAA/SOC2 compliance and secure messaging.
• Improve performance and database efficiency on AWS and PostgreSQL.
• Evaluate new tools and run proofs-of-concept to improve the ecosystem.
