Job summary

Boom Technology, Inc. seeks a principal electrical engineer to own the electrical architecture for a 42 MW gas turbine powering AI data centers.

You will oversee power distribution, protection, instrumentation, and controls interfaces across the engine from concept to validated hardware. You will collaborate with propulsion, mechanical, controls, and test engineers to integrate electrical systems into a blank-sheet gas turbine platform, while managing vendor relationships and leading root-cause

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing and proving electrical systems for power-dense, safety-critical hardware.
• Depth in at least two areas: power distribution, protection, instrumentation, high-power electronics, or controls hardware.
• Experience taking a system from blank page to tested hardware.
• Ability to make decisions with incomplete information and write specs when none exist.
• Hands-on lab and test experience with probes and test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Own the electrical architecture for major portions of the engine: power distribution, protection, instrumentation, and controls interfaces.
• Design and build systems that monitor, protect, and sense the engine under real operating conditions.
• Collaborate with propulsion, mechanical, controls, and test engineering to integrate electrical systems into a gas turbine platform from scratch.
• Manage vendor relationships for outsourced hardware components.
• Lead root-cause investigations when hardware behaves unexpectedly during testing.
• Set technical direction for other engineers within the system.
