Job summary

Boom Technology seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to own the electrical system for a 42 MW gas turbine powering AI data centers. You will oversee power distribution, protection, instrumentation, and controls interfaces across the engine from concept to validated hardware.

You will collaborate with propulsion, mechanical, controls, and test teams to integrate the electrical system into a fresh turbine platform, while managing vendor relationships and leading investigations when issues arise.

Qualifications

• 7+ years designing and proving electrical systems for power-dense hardware.
• Experience end-to-end ownership from architecture to hardware validation.
• Hands-on lab and test experience with real measurements and probes.

Responsibilities

• Own the electrical architecture for major portions of Superpower from concept through validated hardware.
• Design and build systems that monitor, protect, and sense the engine under real operating conditions.
• Collaborate with propulsion, mechanical, controls, and test engineering to integrate electrical systems into a gas turbine platform.
• Manage vendor relationships for outsourced hardware components.
• Lead root-cause investigations when hardware deviates from the model in testing.
• Set technical direction for other engineers within the system.
