Job summary

ECS seeks a Building Enclosure Associate Principal to lead the Mid-Atlantic Building Science & Infrastructure team. You will manage projects, provide technical leadership on investigations, testing, and design consulting, and mentor junior staff.

This client-facing role collaborates with owners, architects, contractors, and engineers to deliver practical building envelope solutions. Lead project delivery, oversee budgets and staffing, and support business development while staying current on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architecture (NCARB).
• 8+ years of building enclosure consulting experience, including testing, BECx, design review or forensic assessments.
• Licensed or certified: P.E., R.A., IIBEC certifications (RRC, RWC, REWC, RBECxP), or UW–Madison BECxP/CxA+BE.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical execution and investigations, with oversight of testing, BECx and design consulting.
• Manage building enclosure projects from scope through closeout, including budgets and staffing.
• Mentor junior staff, provide technical training, and support senior leadership decisions.
• Develop proposals, reviews reports for accuracy, and contribute to client relations and business development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and ensure compliance with codes and industry standards.
• Represent ECS professionally in client and industry interactions.
