Job summary

ECS Group of Companies seeks a Building Enclosure Project Associate to join our Mid-Atlantic Building Science & Infrastructure team in Chesapeake, VA. You will perform testing, inspections, and consulting on building enclosure systems and infrastructure.

Responsibilities include site observations, drafting CAD work, and developing testing protocols. You will manage multiple projects, interface with clients, and contribute to reports and design reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering or related field
• 2+ years of building enclosure consulting experience including testing, commissioning, design review or forensic assessments
• Licenses/certs preferred: P.E., RA, IIBEC CxP certifications or UW–Madison BECxP/CxA+BE

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, inspections, and consulting on building science and infrastructure.
• Inspect roofing and building enclosure systems; interpret drawings and site plans.
• Draft or CAD support; develop testing protocols and plans.
• Interpret results, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with forensic assessments, commissioning, and enclosure investigations.
• Review designs and submittals; support repair design and peer review.
• Stay current with IBC, ASHRAE, ASTM, and CSI codes.
