Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Building Enclosure Staff Associate to join our Mid-Atlantic team in Charlottesville, VA. You will support enclosure projects, gain hands-on field experience, and develop skills in testing, analysis, and reporting while collaborating with experienced consultants.

The role emphasizes field investigations, documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate envelope performance and support construction quality across varied facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering or Architecture (NCARB).
• 1+ year of related experience.
• EIT or IIBEC certifications are a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Support building science & infrastructure testing, inspections, and consulting services.
• Conduct site observations and inspections with guidance from senior staff.
• Assist with CAD drafting and interpretation of drawings/site plans.
• Assist with specialized building enclosure testing and protocol development.
• Document site observations and prepare field reports describing findings.
• Analyze field observations and testing results to support conclusions.
• Develop familiarity with IBC and local codes relating to building enclosure systems.
