Job summary

IU Health Avon Primary Care is seeking a Medical Assistant II to join our busy team in Avon, IN. This full-time role supports patient flow, pre-visit planning, vaccines and specimen collection while maintaining accurate records and ensuring patient satisfaction.

Requires Medical Assistant certification and 1+ year of experience in a fast-paced primary care or family medicine setting. No weekends; 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, M-F, with occasional flexibility as needed.

Qualifications

• Current CMA/CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC certification or equivalent.
• BLS certification (AHA) is required.
• Knowledge of OSHA/CLIA/ADA.
• Basic math and accurate data entry skills.
• Ability to meet technical and physical standards.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for provider visits.
• Perform pre-visit planning and support clinic workflow.
• Assist with vaccines, injections, blood draws, and nurse visits.
• Manage patient messages, documentation, and admin tasks.
• Scan records, process faxes, support prior authorizations, and paperwork.
• Contribute to a high-quality patient experience in a high-volume clinic.
