Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care and clinical operations in a full-time role. You will work under supervision, manage registrations and scheduling, and help ensure accurate documentation and timely referrals.

The position requires CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC certifications or active enrollment, OSHA/CLIA knowledge, and proficiency with ICD-10/CPT coding. A Medical Assistant program is preferred and BLS for healthcare workers is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; MA program preferred.
• Certified medical assistant credentials welcomed (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC).
• Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA and ADA applicable to clinical duties.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding for documentation.
• Basic math and accurate data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and clinical direction per organization standards.
• Register, schedule, and maintain EMR files; ensure timely order processing.
• Instruct patients on procedures and care needs; coordinate referrals.
• Support front office tasks and precept MA team members or externs as needed.
