Job summary

Kin Insurance seeks a Pricing & Risk Analyst to help identify profitable state-by-state growth. You’ll work with state managers to turn policy, quote, and claims data into actionable recommendations on pricing and risk management.

This entry-level role builds skills in insurance metrics, pricing, segmentation, and state performance, supported by Databricks Genie, Claude Code, and MCP-enabled workflows to automate recurring analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
• Foundational SQL skills and proficiency with Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
• Experience analyzing data to identify patterns and explain findings.
• Hands-on experience using AI for analytical tasks (academic or personal projects count).
• Ability to explain findings clearly and manage assignments with guidance.

Responsibilities

• Own recurring state performance reporting on quote volume, conversions, new business, and retention.
• Analyze performance across geography, risk characteristics, coverage, and distribution channels to surface growth opportunities.
• Evaluate how rate changes, underwriting rules, and shifts in business mix could affect growth.
• Deliver clear charts and concise summaries for Pricing and Risk teams and partner groups.
• Use Databricks Genie to explore data and Claude Code to write SQL and automate reports.
