Job summary

SCA Health, including Dublin Surgery Center, is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) in the PreOp/PACU setting. You will assess patients pre- and postoperatively, participate in anesthesia-related care, and develop individualized care plans for recovery.

The role requires current nursing licensure, 3 years in preoperative/PACU settings, and certifications (BLS/BCLS, ACLS; PALS if pediatrics). U.S. clinical practice standards apply, with emphasis on patient safety and high-quality perioperative care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Three years of Pre Operative and/or PACU experience required.
• Medical / surgical nursing experience
• Current state licensure to practice within good standings.
• BLS or BCLS certification within 90 days of employment
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment
• PALS certification if pediatric care is included within 90 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status according to policies to include cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, hemodynamic stability, pain and comfort needs, and mental status.
• Interpret information from monitors.
• Describe pathophysiology of diseases.
• Apply scoring systems for discharge criteria.
• Develop a perianesthesia plan of care.
• Implement the plan including preparing for and managing patient recovery from anesthesia across various levels (general, monitored anesthesia care, regional, local).
• Protect patient from injury and ensure patient safety and privacy.
• Transfer care and provide hand-off reports.
• Document nursing care and collaborate with the team.
