Job summary

SCA Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in the PreOp PACU role. You will assess patients before and after surgery, monitor vital signs, and implement individualized perianesthesia plans to ensure safe recovery.

The role requires state RN licensure, at least one year in PreOp or PACU, and certifications such as BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and PALS when applicable. Work is performed in a surgical setting with a focus on patient advocacy and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standing.
• BLS/BCLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification if pediatric care is included within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status per facility policies.
• Interpret information from monitors.
• Describe underlying pathophysiology of common diseases.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia care plan.
• Provide hand-off reports to care teams.
• Perform interventions to manage recovery from anesthesia and prevent infection.
