Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services NA Design & Construction is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to act as owner's representative during the preconstruction phase, managing complex industrial projects from site selection through design, permitting, and contract execution across the region.

You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to define scope, budget, and schedule while ensuring adherence to Amazon's design standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience in design/construction.
• Experience with packaging/logistics facilities preferred.
• Willing to travel up to 60% nationwide.
• Strong vendor and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise safety programs and ensure regulatory compliance across project teams.
• Independently manage cross-functional preconstruction projects from site selection through design completion, permitting, and contract execution.
• Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and cashflow; perform conceptual estimating and pricing reviews.
• Lead stakeholder and vendor management; coordinate with Real Estate, Design Engineering, Construction, Finance, and external partners.
• Prepare and present project status and risk reports to leadership; drive clear communication across teams.
• Drive process improvements to enhance preconstruction efficiency and delivery.
• A day-in-the-life activities include coordinating with architects/engineers, reviewing plans, negotiating terms, and supporting budget updates.
