Job summary

Southland Industries in Robinson, Texas, is seeking a seasoned professional to lead preconstruction for design-build and design-assist projects. You will manage design detailing schedules, monitor progress, and oversee the financial aspects of the design contracts to deliver high-quality projects on time and within costs.

The role requires 6+ years of progressive engineering or construction management experience; PE licensure is preferred, with strong writing and communication skills and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or construction science.
• 6+ years progressive engineering or construction management experience.
• PE licensure preferred.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent analytical and technical writing skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient with MS Office; familiar with Autodesk Products and Revit.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team while meeting deadlines.
• Understanding of MEP calculations, design, codes and costs.
• Ability to develop design tasks and distribute amongst the design team.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction for design-build and design-assist projects.
• Manage design and detailing schedules and progress.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including architects and other contractors.
• Oversee financials of design contracts to maintain profitability.
• Develop standards and train team members on engineering standards.
• Maintain document control and QA/QC processes.
• Plan on-site field surveys and assist procurement leveling.
• Support business development with engineering resources.
