Job summary

Southland Industries, Inc. is seeking an experienced design-build/design-assist Program Lead responsible for managing the preconstruction process, design development, detailing progress, and financial performance of design contracts.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery. The role emphasizes leadership across multi-project programs, QA/QC oversight, BIM and MEP knowledge, and strong communication with owners and partners

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction science or equivalent technical training and related experience.
• 9+ years of progressive engineering or construction management experience.
• PE licensure preferred.
• Proficient project management skills from concept to completion and understanding how design decisions impact construction.
• Excellent analytical and technical writing skills.
• Superior communication and presentation skills.
• Advanced computer proficiency including MS Office and familiarity with Autodesk products and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Lead design-build and design-assist projects with complex scope and multi-project programs.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships with cross-functional teams.
• Communicate schedules and goals with cross-functional teams; assess and manage risk.
• Oversee financial aspects of design contracts including costs, billings, and collections to ensure profitability.
• Provide conceptual estimating for cost impact studies and design optimization.
• Lead development of standards, methods, and procedures for engineering; mentor design managers and engineers.
• Develop resources for engineering, VDC and detailing efforts; maintain document control.
