Job summary

Southland Industries, a 100% employee-owned firm, seeks an experienced design and engineering leader in Robinson, TX. You will guide project design, maintain engineering standards, and contribute as a design expert in cross‑functional teams.

The role requires a PE license, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and 12+ years of experience with at least 5 years in people management. You will oversee conceptual design, calculations, and site inspections while mentoring engineers and coordinating with

Qualifications

• PE license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• Minimum 12 years’ relevant experience with at least 5 years in people management.
• Expert knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and related design engineering.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate at all levels.
• Proven ability to lead an engineering group; strong public speaking ability.
• Strong computer skills including CADD and Microsoft Office (Excel).

Responsibilities

• Provides design and engineering support to other departments as needed.
• Manages conceptual design for specific projects and redline layouts.
• Performs site inspections to ensure conformance with construction documents.
• Attends project team meetings as design expert.
• Leads a team of engineers with staffing, training and performance management.
