Job summary

Southland Industries in Carrollton, TX is seeking a seasoned engineering leader to drive preconstruction for design-build and design-assist projects. You will manage design schedules, monitor development, and oversee the financial aspects of design contracts to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams, developing client relationships, managing risk, and ensuring QA/QC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training in engineering/construction.
• 6+ years of progressive engineering or construction management experience.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent analytical and technical writing abilities.
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction for design-build and design-assist projects.
• Manage design and detailing schedules and monitor progress.
• Oversee financial aspects of design contracts to ensure profitability.
• Develop and maintain client relationships across cross-functional teams.
• Identify and mitigate risk in all project phases and assist in schedule creation.
• Coordinate engineering resources to support estimating and pursuit activities.
• Develop standards and procedures for the engineering department.
• Maintain document control and QA/QC processes.
• Coordinate on-site field surveys and data delivery.
• Assist early procurement leveling as required.
