Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated is seeking a Tool & Die Technician to support a metal stamping operation. You will fabricate fixtures and assemblies, set up dies, and troubleshoot tooling to ensure quality and efficiency in production.

Responsibilities include working with lathes and milling machines, interpreting blueprints, and applying heat treatments when required. A strong background in GD&T and CAD tools is valued.

Qualifications

• Must read blueprints and shop drawings.
• Strong understanding of GD&T concepts is preferred.
• Experience with tooling design and dies is required.

Responsibilities

• Sharpen cutting tools for lathe operations.
• Turn material to specified diameter on lathe.
• Cut outside and inside diameters on material with lathe.
• Cut angles on materials with lathe.
• Machine internal and external threads on material.
• Understand and operate milling machines.
• Understand material chemistry and hardness effects.
• Apply heat treatments to reach desired hardness.
• Build die sections and repair/break down progressive dies.
• Read, interpret, and apply blueprints.
• Design, maintain and build gauges, tools, dies and equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair tooling, dies and equipment.
• Calibrate, set up and run machines and equipment.
• Have a solid understanding of GD&T.
