Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated in Neosho, MO is seeking a General Machinist to service progressive dies for a metal stamping operation and fabricate fixtures for assembly. The role requires the ability to sharpen tools, turn diameters on lathes, read blueprints, and maintain precision gauges and dies.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years as Tool & Die Technicians, a HS diploma, and proficiency in AutoCAD; EDM experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven Tool & Die Technician experience.
• Trade School Certificate would be preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; setup and operation with EDM machinery.

Responsibilities

• Sharpen cutting tools for lathe operations.
• Turn material to specified diameter on lathe.
• Cut outside and inside diameters on material with lathe.
• Cut angles on materials with lathe.
• Machine internal and external threads on material.
• Operate milling machines.
• Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Design, maintain and build gauges, tools, dies and other equipment to specification.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair tooling, dies and equipment.
• Calibrate, set up and run machines and equipment.
• Understand GD&T and apply it to machined parts.
