Job summary

SSW Advanced Technologies seeks a Tool & Die Technician to design, fabricate, and maintain precision tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures per engineering specs. You will perform grinding, milling, and drilling to build tooling components and conduct regular inspections for optimal performance.

You will collaborate with engineering and production teams to promptly resolve tooling issues, document specifications, and apply measuring instruments to verify tolerances. Strong GD&T knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited tool and die maker apprenticeship or equivalent technical training.
  • Proven experience in tool and die making or precision machining within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, and precision measurement tools.
  • Ability to operate machine tools such as grinders, mills, lathes, and drill presses safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Tool & Die Technician plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by designing, fabricating, and maintaining precision tools, dies, and molds used in production. This position ensures that all tooling meets exact specifications to produce high-quality parts efficiently and consistently. The technician collaborates closely with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues, minimizing downtime and optimizing manufacturing workflows. Attention to detail and a strong understanding of metalworking and machining principles are essential to maintain the integrity and performance of tools. Minimum Qualifications:
