Job description

Brunk Industries, Inc., a globally recognized company specializing in high precision metal components for the Medical Device Industry as well as other high-tech applications, is currently seeking a Precision Surface Grinder at our location in Freeport, PA. Job Function:

Produce precision components used in various dies and fixtures using the latest technology to meet required customer specifications and ensure customer satisfaction. Produce a final product that meets the Brunk high quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accuracy and quality on all jobs.
• Possess a working knowledge of S.P.C.
• Operate and understand the use of hand tools, grinding machinery, milling machinery, drill presses, lathe, band saw, heat treating ovens, optical comparator, various measuring devices.
• Build, repair, components of progressive dies and new tooling.
• Perform mathematic and geometric functions and possess mechanical aptitude.
• Routinely work to tolerances of +/- .0001”
• Able to devise robust fixturing to meet part geometries and tolerances.
• Assist in job planning, routing, and material acquisition.
• Knowledge of CNC and wire EDM processes.
• Cooperate with other employees to satisfy the job requirements.
• Possess tools of the trade.
• Follow all safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintain a tidy and clean workstation.
• Complete data entry activities in a timely and accurate manner.

Required Skills:

• Good communication skills and team skills required to complete projects on time.
• Ability to analyze blueprints, determine materials required, and machine various pieces of material and components in order to make, modify or repair tools, dies, etc.
• Understand the operation of computer and tool room equipment relative to their job responsibilities.
• Attention to accuracy and details.

Education:

• Journeyman Certificate with 4 years of apprenticeship and two years of experience.
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements/Protective Clothing Required:

• Work is in a manufacturing setting with noise and some grinding dust. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull 100 to 2500 lbs using die carts.
• Must wear protective shoes, safety glasses, shop coat, and hearing protection while working around loud noises.
