Grinder Ark

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Loading workpieces onto the machine, aligning them accurately, and using the grinding wheel to shape and smooth surfaces according to blueprints or instructions.
2. Operating and setting up one or more types of precision grinding machines such as surface, external, internal, or centerless, on a limited range of production work with ordinary recessing and contours.
3. Setting up machines for standard operations where speeds and other settings are prescribed.
4. Selecting wheels suitable for a range of materials and finish requirements.
5. Working with close tolerances and difficult set-ups of parts with irregular shapes.
6. Inspecting workpieces for defects.
7. Performing other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
2. Ability to use standard office equipment.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
4. Ability to perform basic mathematical operations in all units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
5. Physical ability to talk, hear, sit, use hands for handling objects, reach, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
6. Ability to walk or stand on concrete for up to 4 hours at a time.
7. Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
8. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus.
