Job summary

Electronic Systems Inc. in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an SMT Operator for a full-time shift 1 (Mon-Fri, 5:00am–3:30pm). Applicants must have 3+ years of direct production and assembly experience and are paid $19.25 per hour.

You will assemble low-volume and prototype projects, insert components by hand, ensure placement accuracy, and support continuous improvement with your teammates. The role emphasizes quality, teamwork, and readiness to learn and grow within a steady production environment.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to read and understand verbal or written English instructions.
• Self-starter who collaborates effectively across teams.

Responsibilities

• Work directly from prints or assembly instructions to assemble low-volume and prototype projects.
• Insert electronic components by hand into printed circuit boards.
• Responsible for the accuracy of component placement and assembly of final product.
• Work with other assemblers to teach assembly and soldering techniques that will ensure quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with teammates to share assembly and soldering techniques that support quality and efficiency.
• Communicate job status to team leaders
• Perform testing, packing, and related tasks requiring attention to detail and teamwork.
• Participate in continuous improvement and occasional overtime as needed
