Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a machine operator/machinist.
• 2+ years reading and interpreting blueprints.
• 1+ year working on king style boring mills (or vtls).
• Ability to effectively and safely use precision measuring tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs set ups of large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump components and operations of large Vertical & Horizontal Lathes used to repair and overhaul Large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps & Compressors.
• Interprets blueprints/drawings to determine critical dimensions and tolerances. Reads micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators and other precision measuring equipment.
• Maintains tight tolerances as indicated by specifications or drawings, sometimes as low as .0005".
• Selects appropriate cutting tools for various metals and determines speeds and feeds for proper surface finish.
• Works overtime; typically through the week and occasionally on weekends.
• Operates forklift and overhead crane safely within the machine shop; complies with EH&S & QMS processes.
• Lifts and rigs heavy components and assists in disassembly/reassembly of Large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
