Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear Inc is seeking a Machine Operator to contribute to the production of mechanical power transmission components and related systems. You will follow procedures, set up, and operate machinery, and ensure quality through measurement and inspection.

The role emphasizes safe practices and teamwork in a non-climate-controlled shop. The position runs on 1st shift, Monday through Friday, with opportunities to support multiple departments and grow within a dynamic manufacturing

Qualifications

• Math skills required with basic English reading and logging.
• Must be physically able to lift, push, pull and position components.
• Adhere to scheduled hours and company policies; timekeeping rules apply.
• Stand for an entire shift in a non-climate-controlled shop.
• Learn machining concepts and use measuring devices.
• Collaborate with supervisors to optimize production processes.
• Maintain accuracy and quality through attention to detail.
• Demonstrate reliability and dependable performance.
• Show adaptable precision to shifting production demands.

Responsibilities

• Follow production instructions from process sheets, blueprints, or verbal directions.
• Install machine fixtures to align dies, punches, blades, or fixtures.
• Set up and operate machines such as lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNC units.
• Inspect operations and measure finished products to verify tolerances.
• Maintain safe work area, wear PPE, and use crane or buddy system for heavy parts.
• Assist in other areas or departments as needed.
