Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator to join our precision-focused team in Kentucky.

You will follow production instructions, install machine fixtures, and operate machines including lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNC equipment to meet specifications. You will monitor operations, perform quality inspections with calipers and gauges, and strictly follow safety protocols in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.

Qualifications

• Requires average math skills and ability to read and comprehend English instructions and logs.
• Physically able to lift and maneuver heavy items.
• Must follow company timekeeping policy and other policies.
• Ability to stand for an entire shift in a non-climate-controlled shop.
• Willingness to learn machining concepts and use measuring devices.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team to optimize production.
• Attention to detail to maintain quality standards.
• Demonstrate dependability and consistent performance.
• Detail-oriented with flexibility to meet production demands.

Responsibilities

• Follow production instructions from process sheets, blueprints, or supervisor directions to meet output goals.
• Install machine fixtures to ensure safe operation of dies, punches, blades, or fixtures.
• Set up and operate machines such as lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNC machines as specified.
• Monitor production to ensure machines function correctly and products meet quality standards using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Adhere to safety protocols and wear PPE; use crane or buddy system for heavy parts; keep work area clean and organized.
• Perform other duties in support of production as needed.
