Martin Sprocket & Gear, Inc. in California is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join a precision-focused manufacturing team. You will set up and run lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNC machines, inspecting and measuring parts to ensure tight tolerances.

You will follow process sheets and blueprints, maintain clean and safe work areas, and collaborate with supervisors and teammates to optimize production. A strong emphasis on accuracy, reliability, and safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and comprehend English instructions and complete simple logs and reports.
• Must be physically able to handle heavy items.
• Must be able to work scheduled hours and comply with timekeeping policies.
• Must stand for an entire shift in a non-climate-controlled shop.
• Ability to learn basic machining concepts and use measuring devices.
• Work closely with supervisors and team members to optimize production.
• Attention to detail is essential for maintaining quality.
• Demonstrates dependability and consistent performance.
• Detail-oriented with adaptability to changing production demands.

Responsibilities

• Follow production instructions from process sheets, blueprints, or supervisor directions.
• Align and secure dies, punches, blades, or fixtures to ensure safe operation.
• Set up and operate lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNC machines per specs.
• Monitor production and verify tolerances using calipers, micrometers, gauges.
• Follow safety protocols, wear PPE, and use crane/buddy system for heavy parts.
• Assist in other areas or departments as needed.
