Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator to join our team in a non-climate-controlled shop. You will follow process sheets and blueprints, set up fixtures, and operate lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNC machines.

You will inspect finished parts and adhere to safety protocols to maintain quality and efficiency. The role requires basic math, the ability to lift heavy items, and strong reliability.

Qualifications

• Requires average math skills and ability to read and understand English instructions.
• Must be physically able to handle heavy items.
• Must follow company timekeeping policies and other company policies.
• Must be able to stand for an entire shift in a non-climate-controlled shop.
• Ability to learn fundamental machining concepts and demonstrate proficiency in using measuring devices.
• Work closely with supervisors and teammates to optimize production processes.
• Attention to detail is essential for maintaining quality standards.
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to dependability and consistent performance.

Responsibilities

• Follow production instructions from process sheets, blueprints, or verbal directions to achieve outcomes.
• Install machine fixtures to ensure safe operation.
• Set up and operate machines (lathes, mills, drills, presses, CNC) per specs.
• Inspect finished products using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify tolerances.
• Adhere to safety protocols, wear PPE, and use crane/buddy system for heavy parts; keep work area clean.
• Perform other duties as needed.
