Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking an entry-level Machine Operator to join a precision-driven manufacturing team in a non-climate-controlled shop. You will follow process sheets, set up fixtures, and operate lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNC machines to produce quality components.

You will inspect parts for tolerances, adhere to PPE and safety protocols, and collaborate with supervisors to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Average math skills and ability to read and comprehend English instructions.
• Must be physically able to lift, push, pull and position heavy items.
• Must follow scheduled hours and company timekeeping and other policies.
• Must stand for an entire shift in a non-climate-controlled shop.
• Ability to learn basic machining concepts and use measuring devices.
• Work closely with supervisors to optimize production processes.
• Attention to detail is essential for quality.
• Demonstrates dependability and consistent performance.
• Detail-oriented with flexibility to shift production demands.

Responsibilities

• Follow production instructions from process sheets, blueprints, or supervisor directions.
• Align and secure dies, punches, blades, or other fixtures for safe machine operation.
• Set up and operate machines such as lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNC machines.
• Inspect the production process and finished products for tolerances and quality using measuring tools.
• Follow safety protocols, wear PPE, and use cranes or buddy system for heavy parts.
• Assist in other areas or departments as needed.
